Raised in the picturesque English county of Shropshire, my passion for photography began at the age of 16 when I picked up my first SLR, an Olympus OM101. Since then, I’ve been capturing the beauty of our natural, urban, and human landscapes.
An adventurer at heart, I’ve been fortunate to enjoy a long career in IT that not only supported my explorations but also took me overseas. A two-year stint in the wonderfully chaotic city of Calcutta allowed me to immerse myself in the vibrancy of India and Southeast Asia, as well as venture further afield to Australia and New Zealand.
Closer to home, my work has taken me across the UK, with stops in London, Manchester, Liverpool, and Yorkshire. Now, I’m back in Shropshire, where I live with Arthur, my spirited cocker spaniel, who loves joining me on photographic escapades.
My photography has appeared in publications around the world and adorns homes across the globe—including a 30-foot-wide print of a New Zealand landscape hanging in a bathroom in Moscow. (Yes, it’s a very large bathroom!)
Publishing a coffee table book has been a long-held dream, and I’ve brought it to life with Portraits of Yorkshire. Next on the horizon is a book on Prague—my favourite city in the world—along with several other projects in the works.
I favour colour photography, embracing the vibrancy of the world around us, though my growing interest in street photography has given me a newfound appreciation for black and white. Some subjects simply demand to be captured in monochrome, revealing a depth and mood that colour sometimes cannot.
