Serene image of three tall pine trees silhouetted against a vibrant purple sunset sky over Malham Tarn. A crescent moon hangs in the distance above the calm water.

Glisten

Malham Tarn had been calling to me for some time and I knew I wanted to capture its beauty as the light of the day faded away. I spent hours exploring the area, and I was becoming frustrated by the lack of inspiring compositions. Just as I was about to give up, I stumbled upon these trees. Their silhouettes against the twilight sky were striking, and instantly I realised this was the shot I’d been searching for. The stillness of the tarn mirroring the soft hues of the sky, the crescent moon adding a touch of magic – it all came together perfectly. I’m so glad I persevered; sometimes the best shots are the ones that require a bit more effort to find.
