Trapped

I never considered landscape photography a potentially dangerous pursuit, but I learned otherwise while taking this shot.

As I was composing the scene I wanted, I got both of my legs trapped in the limestone pavement, and despite my best efforts, I couldn’t free them. Initially, panic set in but seeing this fantastic sunset, my thoughts at once returned to getting the shot and dealing with my situation after.

Thankfully after eventually managing to remove my walking boots, I was able to free myself. It was quite scary to think if I’d been stuck there with the temperature falling very quickly, it could have become quite a serious situation.
